This update will continue into the interior as it will adopt the futuristic kia ev6s interior, which seems to be the default design theme for all the new kia models. Complete with the dual 12.3 inch lcd screens and the rotary shift by wire shifter and the ev6 style, two spoke steering wheel. Another major update is the chassis as it will be upgraded to the latest third generation platform, which it will share with the latest fifth generation. Sportage, the new platform will render more space efficiency, better handling and safety also shared with a slightly bigger sportage. Suv is the power plant, as it will likely adopt the 1.6 liter turbocharged, hybrid and plug in hybrid engines, good for 227 and 261 horsepower, respectively. With the same torque figure of 258 pound feet, the plug in version is capable of achieving 35 miles or 56 kilometers of pure electric range needing two hours to charge using the level 2 charger.

Unfortunately, the rumor has it that the plug in version will only be available in europe, as in most other regions, its known that people tend to split between the standard, hybrid and the ev versions. Only speaking of the eevee version, we are happy to report that there will be a new one, also thanks to the current euros incredible popularity. However, the eevee mechanism is expected to be in line with the current generation, nero ev, which has been considered ahead of its time. It actually travels longer per charge, as it achieves a 455 kilometers wltp certified range versus ev6s, ‘0 kilometers, also nero ev. Actually packs more power than the entry level single motor ev6 model, which only comes with 168 horsepower and 258 pound feet of torque and will outpace the ev6 with 0 60 acceleration time of 8.5 seconds by nearly 1.5 seconds at 7 seconds flat. The release of the bed version comes as a surprise, as there is a similarly sized dedicated ev based on the egmp platform on the way, too expected to be a mini ev6. The ev4 will entice customers with a faster charging, speed of the 800 volts charging architecture and other egmp goodies after the unveiling.
